Subsequent entrant
This visa is for family members of subclass 457 and TSS visa holders who are applying separately for their TSS visa and wish to join the primary subclass 457 or TSS visa holder in Australia.
It is for family members of subclass 482 and 457 visa holders.
Stay
You can stay for as long as your visa is valid.
With this visa you can
- Live, work and study in Australia
- Travel to and from Australia as many times as you want, while the visa is valid.
You must
- Be a partner or dependent of a subclass 482 or 457 visa holder
2) Temporary Graduate visa (Subclass 485)
A temporary visa that allows international students to live, study and work after you have finished your studies.
a) Graduate Work stream
This visa is for international students who have recently graduated with qualifications that are relevant to specific occupations Australia needs. It lets you live, study and work in Australia temporarily.
Stay
Up to 18 months.
Hong Kong passport holders may stay up to 5 years.
With this visa you can
- Live, study and work in Australia temporarily.
- Bring your family members.
You must
- Be under 50 years of age.
- Be in Australia when you apply for this visa.
- Hold an eligible visa.
- Have held a Student visa in the last 6 months.
- Have a qualification relevant to an occupation on the skilled occupation list.
- Have applied for a skills assessment in your nominated occupation on the skilled occupation list.
- Provide evidence of adequate health insurance for all applicants when you apply.
- Provide evidence you have applied for an AFP check when you apply.
- Provide evidence of the required level of English with the application.
b) Post-Study Work stream
This visa is for international students who have recently graduated with a degree from an Australian institution. It lets you live, work and study in Australia, temporarily.
Stay
Usually between 2 and 4 years, depending on your qualification.
Applicants holding a select degree may be eligible for an extended 2 year stay on their visa.

If you already hold a Post-Study Work visa and are eligible for the additional 2 year stay for holding a select degree, lodge your application online Applicants holding a select degree are only eligible to be granted the extended 2 years once and further applications for the extension will be made invalid.
Hong Kong and British National Overseas passport holders may stay for 5 years.
With this visa, you can
- Live, study and work in Australia temporarily after you have finished your studies
- Bring your immediate family members to stay with you.
You must
- Be under 50 years of age.
- Be in Australia when you apply for this visa.
- Have applied for and been granted your first Student visa on the basis of an application made on or after 5 November 2011.
- Hold an eligible visa.
- Have held a Student visa in the last 6 months.
- Have a recent degree in a CRICOS-registered course.
- Provide evidence of adequate health insurance for all applicants when you apply.
- Provide evidence you have applied for an AFP check when you apply .
- Provide evidence of the required level of English with the application.
